Holidays Act: A Practical Guide is a 6.5 hour virtual course, facilitated online.
This engaging and practical course, co-presented by a payroll consultant and employment lawyer, offers expert insights and real-world applications to give you a comprehensive understanding of payroll.
Through interactive activities, case studies, and discussions, this course offers hands-on learning for administering payroll.  The workbook includes practical exercises and an overview of legislation so you can apply your knowledge with confidence.

  • Understand key entitlements under the Holidays Act 2003, including annual, public, bereavement, and sick leave
  • Calculate holiday pay for staff with fixed or variable hours and at the end of employment, using both Average Weekly Earnings and Ordinary Weekly Pay

  • Plan and budget effectively for annual holidays and closedowns
  • Provide for public holidays by understanding what qualifies as an 'otherwise working day' and confidently calculating public holiday pay
