A foundation course for Microsoft Excel ideal for the beginner or the self-taught.  This course will provide the skills required to use Excel’s impressive capabilities to create spreadsheets. During the course, you will learn the skills that will enable you to produce your own worksheets with appropriately formatted data and how to manage your worksheets.
 
You will learn how to create and apply simple functions and formulas for completing calculations in your spreadsheet., and you will see how easy it is to make a visual impact with your data by creating a simple chart.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who is new to Excel or would like a refresher on the fundamental techniques of creating and formatting spreadsheets.
Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able to:
Identify the different parts of a spreadsheet
  1. Create a new spreadsheet; enter and format data
  2. Select data and understand the different mouse pointer options
  3. Use quick tools to help with data entry
  4. Use tools to optimise the layout of your spreadsheet.
  5. Copy and paste data in different formats
  6. Create, copy, and manage worksheets in a workbook
  7. Understand the different printing options for a spreadsheet
  8. Understand the Rules of Precedence (BEDMAS)
  9. Create a simple formula in a cell
  10. Fill in a series from a formula using Autofill
  11. Build basic functions using the Insert Function command and build functions in a cell
  12. Create simple charts and apply basic formatting
Kevin has 25 years’ experience in delivering Microsoft Office training. He has worked with individuals, small and large businesses, local authorities and  government departments helping staff to improve their engagement with the software they use.
