Not-For-Profit: Anxiety Management

Gain an understanding of anxiety and its mental, physical and behavioural affects and learn how to deal with it in daily life.

This session gives an insight into General Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Specific Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobias, Alcohol, and Other Drugs and co-existing problems. Become aware of triggers and evaluation from using EWS, the Early Warning Score escalation Tool—coping strategies including breathing techniques, mindfulness, Panic Attack first aid. These sessions are lead by a facilitator with personal experience of anxiety.
 
Learn how to cope, talk and deal with someone in distress, identify when support is needed. Learn how to use safety plans, and administer first aid around Mental Health.
This session covers the areas of self-harm and suicide and how to respond.

This session is lead by Matthew Peppercorn and the team from WEKA, who are skilled and experienced with years of front line First Aid application.

Not for Profit organisations, clubs and their members qualify for Not for Profit subsided workshops due to the generous support of Otago Community Trust. Please provide us with the name of the Not for Profit organisation or club when you register.  For a full refund to be given, cancellation must be received no less than 48 hours prior to the workshop date.
Any other organisations can attend the training but will be required to pay the full commercial rate of $299 incl. GST.
