PRINCE2: Project Management Combined Foundation & Practitioner Course

PRINCE2™ is a process-based method for effective project management, and will give you the fundamental skills you need to become a successful project manager. It stands for PRojects IN Controlled Environments, and is used and recognised all over the world.

The Combined course delivers the full PRINCE2™ project management Foundation and Practitioner curriculum through presentations, discussion, exercises and exam practice.  The course is fast-paced and runs for five days from 8.15 am to 5.00 pm with two hours of exam practice recommended each evening.  The course is aimed at anyone who needs project management methodologies, certification and to work effectively in a PRINCE2 environment.
 
Pre-course work
We suggest participants complete ten to twelve hours of pre-course reading.  A pack consisting of the pre-course reading guide and the PRINCE2 manual will be sent to all participants who complete registration at least ten days before the course is due to start.

Content Foundation Course
  • Principles underpinning every project
  • Themes and guidance on critical aspects of project management
  • Processes and project lifecycle
The PRINCE2 Foundation Exam is a one-hour closed book exam with seventy-five multiple-choice questions.  The candidate must correctly answer 50% or more of the questions to pass the exam and continue to the Practitioner portion of the combined course.

Content Practitioner Course
  • Application of PRINCE2 in different project environments
  • Explain how PRINCE2 can effectively address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario
  • Provide careful and detailed preparation for the Practitioner Exam
The Practitioner part of the course is scenario based training focusing on the application of PRINCE2 under different project environments and scenarios. Review and revision sessions of all PRINCE2 elements are included throughout the training.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam is a 2½ hour, open manual, scenario based multiple choice exam consisting of 108 questions across 9 syllabus areas presented in the following styles: Classical multiple choice; Yes/No; Multiple response; Matching; Sequencing; Assertion/Reason. The candidate must correctly answer 55% or more of the questions to pass the exam.

We conduct both exams on behalf of Accrediting Professional Managers Globally.

The pre-course reading guide; PRINCE2 manual; Foundation and Practitioner workbooks including activities, discussions, quizzes and sample exams; PRINCE2 desk reference chart; Foundation and Practitioner exams; morning and afternoon refreshments; lunch; and post-course support, including access to our alumni-only resources are all included in the course fees.

Professional development
40 Professional Development Units (PDUs) will be awarded once you have passed both the Foundation and Practitioner Exams.  Every certified Project Management Professional must earn 60 PDUs every three years to retain certification.
