The regional economy is doing well in some sectors and at the same time it is no secret that times are tough for many businesses in New Zealand. Results from our recent quarterly Business Survey indicated in the next 12 months 72% of businesses are going to invest in training and workforce capability building, and 52% of businesses believe staffing constraints are their biggest barrier and impacts their ability to sustain strong productivity (and as you will be aware supply chain constraints and cost pressures are clearly being amplified.
