Future proofing Manufacturing and Engineering companies across Otago and Southland is the focus of the Southland and Otago Regional Engineering Collective’s (SOREC)  Summit. There will be the chance to take notes, network and let us know how we can best help each company in the area they need.

We are excited to announce that Hon Andrew Bayly, Minister Small Business and Manufacturing, will be speaking on the Government perspective on the future of the sector.  

Other speakers include:
  • Paul Clark, Westpac Economist, who also will be speaking at the Summit, has recently published this paper on the digital technologies for the manufacturing industry. Check out the other speakers below, with a late addition of Dan Taylor from NZTE who will speak on the export developments in the industry.
  • Michail Karpenko (GM of Fabrication at HERA) about Industry 4.0, Construction4.0, Fabrication 4.0
  • Dan Taylor (NZTE Head of Focus Customers) will speak on the export topic
  • Farra Engineering, Jamie Blair and Fisher & Paykel Appliances will give insights on training and managing staff. 
  • Petra Heingartner (Callaghan Innovation on Technology).
  • Brian McMath (New Zealand Product Accelerator) talking about the opportunities and support they can provide. 
Bring your phones! Throughout the event Slido will be available so you can ask questions. Business South and SOREC will also be asking to fill out an online survey so we can help find solutions to your companies individual needs.
