6 Steps to Introducing AI into your Business
Grasp the basics
 - Generative AI (GenAI) is a type of artificial intelligence that uses complex modeling to create new content based on patterns learned from vast amounts of training data. It’s great at introducing efficiency for your team to free up productive capacity.
Understand the applications - Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, HeyGen and thousands of other tools can make a positive impact in your business. Knowing which tool to use is a great start but then applying it in an appropriate way is key.
Prompt Engineering - Sure, there’s lots of Generative AI applications that don’t need any prompting to generate a result. The truth is, if you want to make the most of Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and many other natural language processing tools then knowing what a good prompt looks like is powerful.
Identifying opportunities in your business - Ok, you know about the applications and how to do some prompt engineering but now you need to bring the skills together in your business. There’s lots of low-hanging fruit, so picking an easy win is a great way to start getting some benefits immediately.
The cost of AI - Like all technology there is a cost associated with AI. How much you invest comes down to your appetite for risk, your position on the adoption curve (early adopter vs laggard) and how AI aligns with your business goals. Starting simple (and cheap) is great but it needs to be planned and intentional.
Reap the Rewards - The payback on your Generative AI investment can be almost immediate. Depending on who you talk to you’ll hear about time savings of 2-20 hours per week! If you’re not making a start with AI, then you are probably missing out but chances are your competitors are already there
