About Abbeyfield
Abbeyfield Alexandra Incorporated was set up to establish an Abbeyfield House in Alexandra in response to a rapidly growing need for housing options for older people in our community.
Abbeyfield is a unique, not for profit organisation, firmly based in the community with support from a national organisation. Building on decades of experience Abbeyfield NZ offers a practical, proven solution to the housing needs of older people who seek independence, companionship and safety.
Abbeyfield Alexandra plan to build a house which would accommodate 12-14 residents in private studio suites, with large communal spaces for living, dining and social activities. The costs of building Abbeyfield Alexandra are projected to be $4.5 million. As such, we are due to start two years or local fundraising to help us towards this exciting goal. We are also looking at ways we can partner with the local community business sector to support the process of the build and the ongoing running of the facility.
We look forward to sharing with the BA5 group the plans we have.
