Wednesday Matters Webinar: What does the National Infrastructure Plan mean for your business?
Wed 10 June 12:00pm - 12:45pm
Zoom
The National Infrastructure Plan will shape where investment flows, which regions grow, and which businesses win work over the next 30 years.

Join Infrastructure Commission CEO Geoff Cooper for a focused and friendly conversation about what the National Infrastructure Plan means for businesses like yours. Submit your questions in advance via advocacy@business-south.org.nz or engage live on the day. This is your chance to put the issues that matter most to the region directly to the person helping shape New Zealand's infrastructure future.

Geoff Cooper is the Chief Executive of Te Waihanga, the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission. Prior to this, he’s worked at the United States Federal Reserve and is a former Chief Economist at both PwC and Auckland Council. He holds a Master of Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland and a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University.

Find out:
  • How the plan tackles infrastructure at both extremes from Southland's rural roads keeping farming, fishing and food processing moving, to the Central Lakes managing some of New Zealand's fastest population growth. What does the plan offer for both?
  • How climate adaptation will be funded with Otago and Southland facing significantly rising flood risk by 2075, what does that mean for your business?
  • Where South Island energy resilience and rural connectivity sit in national planning and whether the plan goes far enough for regions like ours.
  • How your business can influence the national infrastructure pipeline and make the strongest possible case to the Commission.
